Honoring the Battles, Soldiers and Spirits

From the Author, Vernon Dutton

We are old soldiers, you and I.

While the spirits of those who fell at Antietam, Gettysburg, Shiloh and other battlefields have gone on to their eternal reward, we, the living, pay homage to their bravery and sacrifice.

I am laying down arms when it comes to reliving Civil War matters through my website at vdutton.com.

You’ll notice there is now but one menu item at the top of this web site – blog.

Spanning seven years from 2012 to 2019, we have shared poetry and prose, fact and fiction centered upon our great admiration for the soldiers and spirits who poured out their last full measure in answer to their Nation’s call. It has been a most-pleasant avocation for me.

My 455-episode serial story about the time traveler who finds himself transported to Harpers Ferry in the 19th century has been published in book form, Assassins of History

It’s actually a trilogy…for now.

The second book comes out this Summer of 2019, and a manuscript for the third is almost complete.

Like an old soldier whose tour of duty is ending, I am itching to get on with life.

You can follow me on my new mission at www.vernondutton.com.

I want to thank you for your support over the years. It is greatly appreciated.
